About AMAANSA Fine Arts Studio

AMAANSA Fine Arts Studio is the independent studio of artist Abhinav Dhole. If you have spoken to "Abhinav from AMAANSA", you have spoken to the person who paints your piece. Every miniature portrait here is hand-painted by him (not printed or engraved) from your photo, on a face roughly one centimetre across.

The artist

Abhinav is an IIT Kharagpur graduate who left his corporate job in 2023 to paint full time. He spent his first two years almost entirely on faces, learning how a single line at this scale can make a face look fuller, thinner or older. Today his full-colour portraits typically reach 90–95% resemblance to the person or pet in your photo, and monochrome portraits above 85%. No piece leaves the studio below our internal minimum of 80%.

Truly independent

There is no factory and no team of painters. Abhinav paints, finishes, seals, packs and ships every piece himself, and answers your messages too. AMAANSA pieces are sold only here, on amaansa.com.

What we make

  • Hand-painted portrait pendants on 18k gold plated or silver-tone bases, in monochrome or full colour
  • Pet portrait pendants, including pets and people together on one piece
  • Devotional miniatures of deities and saints, painted on request
  • Vintage-style keepsakes, made for display rather than wear
  • Family tabletop miniatures of up to five almost full-body figures
  • Portraits painted onto the dial of your own watch (we paint the dial only; we don't sell watches)

How your piece is made

  1. Share your reference photos. There is no photo upload button, on purpose: not every photo paints well at this size. Send 2–3 photos on WhatsApp and we'll have a short consultation about your idea, the best photo and the composition, with quick rough sketch outlines so you can see how each option might look in the circle.
  2. Book your slot. Once everything is aligned and you place your order on the website, you get the next available slot. The current wait time is shown at the top of the site: with a 2-day wait, an order placed on Monday is painted from Wednesday evening. Because Abhinav paints every order himself, orders are taken in slots.
  3. Painting (3–5 days). From your slot, painting and finishing take 3–5 days, including any rectification. If a first attempt doesn't reach the resemblance he expects, he tells you and starts again.
  4. Your approval and fine-tuning. Nothing is sealed straight away. You see a photo of the finished painting first, and small adjustments, like softening shading near the eyes, are made at this stage.
  5. Sealing and coating. After your approval the painting dries overnight and gets its final protective coat.
  6. Shipped with care. Every parcel ships insured, across India and worldwide.

Every painting is original and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Read 200+ customer reviews, many of them written to Abhinav by name. Have a question? Message Abhinav on WhatsApp using the button on any page.
